Greenhouse Project
The Green House Project has seen the design, building and maintenance of greenhouses in North Korea in order to boost health and nutrition for children with disabilities. These buildings not only house a variety of fruits and vegetables such as cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and potatoes but also have some livestock!
Located in 4 schools and orphanages in Sariwon, Bongchon and Bongsan, the greenhouses of our work focusing on nutrition for children with disabilities in North Korea enable schools and its local community to cultivate crops for themselves throughout the year as well as grow produce to sell and raise funds for the school. It has also been a useful educational opportunity for pupils to learn about agriculture, science and healthy eating as they help in maintenance of the greenhouse alongside their teachers.
