As part of developing the Medical Rehabilitation Programme, DULA and KFPD have been focusing on work for children with disabilities who require simple surgeries.
In November this year (13th November – 25th November 2017), we were able to take a team of four surgeons and two KFPD staff to the Khmer NGO’S Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There, the team trained alongside experienced doctors, surgeons and healthcare personnel, focusing on clubfoot and cleft lip and palate surgeries in particular.
The Khmer NGO’S Hospital were generous in hosting our team, guiding us through their work, and sharing surgical equipment and their expertise with us. We are delighted to continue this project with Khmer NGO’S Hospital in March 2018, and look forward to sharing stories from our time in Cambodia with you in the new year..
